Her Excellency the Undersecretary of Land Transport Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation Engineer Mariam Ahmed Jumaan headed a delegation as part of an official visit to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority. The delegation was received by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of the Public Transport Agency and was attended by Hassan Adel Abu Hassan, Director of Public Transport and Safa Mohammed Al Tajir, Head of Land Transport Licensing from Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation.

During the visit, the Bahraini delegation was briefed on RTA’s experience in the public transportation sector and the initiatives and steps taken to develop a modern network and transport infrastructure as well as improving mass transit systems to make them the ideal mode of transport in the Emirate.

The Ministry of Transportation’s Land Transport Affairs aims to learn from Dubai’s experience in order to build a model which provides high-quality and viable public transportation services across the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as enhancing the land connections between Bahrain and its neighboring Gulf States.

The meeting was concluded with a site visit of RTA’s taxis and buses operation control centers.
