His Excellency Minister of Transportation Engineer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of India, His Excellency Mr. A.K. Antony in Delhi today where His Excellency presented an official invitation to Mr. Antony to attend the 3rd Bahrain International Air Show 2014 being held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting comes following the directive of His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Bahrain International Air Show, to promote the 3rd Bahrain International Air Show’s (BIAS) prominence on an international scale, and in recognition of the strong ties between the Kingdom and the Republic of India whereby the Government of Bahrain has extended an invitation to India’s Minister of Defense.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed ongoing cooperation between the two countries and ways to further develop this cooperation to yield mutual benefit. His Excellency the Minister of Transportation presented the official invitation to His Excellency Mr. Antony to attend the 3rd BIAS in which numerous Indian companies in the aviation sector will be participating.
The meeting was also attended by Acting Undersecretary of Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation Ahmed Nemat Ali, Captain Rashid Buallay representation the Ministry of State for Defense Affairs, and His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of India Ghassan Shaikho.
The 3rd BIAS will be held 16-18 January 2014 at the Sakhir Airbase, following the successful hosting of the 1st and 2nd BIAS in 2010 and 2012 previously. Over 40 international specialized companies in the aviation industry participated in recent years, attracting an audience of more than 20,000 visitors including military and civilian delegations, VIPs, and the business community from the civil and military aviation industries alike.
The 3rd BIAS 2014 is expected to achieve similar success, with major participation of several international companies in the field from all over the world, and an estimated 80 aircrafts on display exhibiting the latest technology and design. In addition, BIAS will feature air shows by commercial and military planes, as well as executive jets including a collection of historic air-crafts.
