The Bahrain Broadband Network BSC (C) (BNet) has been created as the provider of the national broadband network in the Kingdom. BNet supplies its services to licensees who can compete in providing retail fixed connectivity services to residents or businesses, or mobile operators who use fibre as an input in providing mobile services.

By June 2020, the roll out of the fibre-based national broadband network has progressed rapidly, as the fibre broadband infrastructure passes more than 78% of households and 100% of businesses. The rollout of the high-speed fibre optic National Broadband Network continues with the aim to reach the following targets by 2023:

- 95% of households

- 100% of business premises

- 100% of public radiocommunication stations

- 100% all submarine cable landing stations, datacentres and all other network nodes
